The Sweet Sounds Dessert concert, a fundraiser put on by the Harrisonville band program, will take place tonight, February 21, at the Harrisonville Middle School cafeteria. The program starts at 6 p.m. with the middle schools bands performing first. The high school jazz band performs at 7:20, and concert band plays at 7:40. Admission costs $5 for adults, $3 for students, and children 5 and under are free. This includes HMS students as well.
This concert is a fundraiser. All money raised will go to support school trips, concerts, instruments, uniforms and many other beneficial things for the band program.
In the past, the band hosted a chili dinner along with the concert. This year, attendees simply will enjoy dessert.
Freshman Cierra Spots, alongside Freshman Raegan Highley, said, “The reason why this has changed is because altogether it is easier and much more efficient.”
Freshman Chayah Cunningham said she is looking forward to this week’s fundraiser event.
“I love concerts because I love being able to play my instrument,” Cunningham said.

“I enjoy the people, hearing the music, and performing concerts. It’s
just a fun thing,” Parris said.
