On Thursday, Feb. 22, the Harrisonville Wildcats played host to the Odessa Bulldogs. As the last home game of the season, it was senior night for the Wildcats. Prior to the game seniors Jamiel Batiste, Ryan Byrd, Jackson Crowley, Lucas Filer, Nicholas Laughlin, and Kurt Poisal all got their moment in the limelight as they walked to mid-court accompanied by their parents.
“It was really special to share that moment with my parents,” said Senior Jackson Crowley.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Harrisonville led by over 20 points for most of the second half and ended up winning the game with a final score of 76-55. Senior Ryan Byrd showed up and led the team in scoring.
“That was the last time I am ever going to play on that court. It is a bittersweet moment. I’m definitely going to miss it,” said Senior Ryan Byrd.
With that win the Wildcats move to 14-10 on the season. They head to Savannah tonight to finish out the regular season. The district tournament kicks off next Tuesday night against Warrensburg at Pleasant Hill High School.
