LWC Recap against Pleasant Hill

On Friday, Feb. 2, the Harrisonville Lady Wildcat lost against Pleasant Hill with the final score of 42-56 at home.

“During the game, there were a few things we could have done better such as our defense,” said Sophomore Ali Knox, who plays shooting guard.

“We need to have more of a fight. We laid down and took the beating,” said Junior Brecken Moreland, who plays point guard.

Players say that going up against cross-town rivals Pleasant Hill is always a little challenging.

“I felt pretty confident going up against Pleasant Hill, but I was a little nervous at a few parts when we got down on ourselves,” Knox said.

“I felt confident going up against them,” Moreland said.

Knox noticed many highlights throughout the game.

“We did pretty well moving the ball around on offense,” Knox said. “We did well rebounding and we had good sportsmanship throughout the whole game even when we were down”

The Harrisonville Lady Wildcats also took another loss to Odessa on Monday, Feb. 5, with the final score of 35-58 at Home.

On Thursday, Feb. 8, the girls came home with the win against Excelsior Springs with the final score of 56-43 at Excelsior Springs.

The Wildcats’ next game is on Tuesday, Feb. 13, against Grain Valley at home.
