Harrisonville baseball is underway with a good start to the season. Here is a rundown on what has been happened and what will be happening. The weather has been holding up recent events the past couple of days but their next game is today against Boonville.
“Boonville will be one of our hardest opponents,” said head coach Dave Hix. “We just need to focus on one game at a time.”
So far the team’s record is 3-2. They are hoping for a state championship win like the Wildcats Football team had this past year.
“We have a great team, so we only have to get everyone on board to achieve the ultimate goal,” said senior Morgan Selemaea, who plays outfield.
Coach Hix has a plan to prepare for the rest of season . “We get better today than yesterday, and we work on the little things we need to get better at to make us a complete team,” he said.
Selemaea agrees that there is room for improvement, but he adds, “Mother Nature has to cooperate.”
“We need to get better with on-base passes, get our defense locked down, and get our bats ready to go,” he said.
