Spring Break Fun in KC Area

Spring break is upon us here at HHS and there are many things you may not know about that will be going on through March 22-29 in the Kansas City area. Luckily, Kansas City is close to Harrisonville and there are many fun, reasonably priced activities to do with friends and family. Kansas City is known for great shopping in the metro area, along with fun activities for young children.

Depending on what you and your family like to do, the Kansas City Royals are hosting some preseason games. There will be three home games for the Royals over break and tickets can be found on https://seatgeek.com/kansas-city-royals-tickets for cheap last minute pick-ups. For example, you can snag nose-bleed seats for as little as $10.

The Kansas City Zoo is also open to the public through spring break. Admission for Jackson and Clay county residents is $5 adults, $4.50 seniors, and $4 children 3-11. Regular admission is $11.50 adults, $10.50 seniors, $8.50 children. The Kansas City Zoo is located in the heart of historic Swope Park at 6800 Zoo Drive.

There are also seven different shopping malls located in the Kansas City area: Oak Park Mall, Zona Rosa, Independence Center, Town Center Plaza, Crown Center, Country Club Plaza, and Ward Parkway Center. These venues offer great restaurants along with many shops to choose from.

Union Station and Science City are also part of the KC area; a combo pass costs $13.50. Union Station and Science City offer a great family fun with the historical background artifacts and hands on activities for children. They are located at the South Plaza at 30 W Pershing Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108.
