Seniors: Important Dates to Note

It’s that time of the year for seniors to get ready for their big day! Graduation is coming up and there are some important dates to remember.

If you were unable to attend school or able to pick up caps and gowns March 20, there will be a final distribution of them on April 10 during fourth hour as well.

On April 1, prom will take place at Stoney Creek in Independence (1801 Bass Pro Drive, 64055.) Prom starts at 8 p.m. that night and tickets are on sale now. Each ticket is $30 per person, and you can get your tickets in the attendance office. If you plan to bring an outside date, you need to talk to Robin Garrett, the Activities Secretary, who is located outside of Coach Maxwell’s office.

“The deadline is near for outside dates,” said Garrett.

If you are wanting to sign up for musical or graduation speeches you can do that in with Cheryl Osborne, the principal’s secretary, beginning April 3.

“The musical solos and speeches will be in the PAC,” said Osborne. The music audition takes place on April 11 at 3:30 p.m. in the PAC, and the speech audition takes place April 13 at 3:30 p.m. in the PAC.

“There will be a group of teachers that judge the music auditions and speech auditions,” said Osborne. If there are any other questions regarding these auditions go talk to Mrs. Osborne in the main office.
