Girls Basketball Team Wins Districts

The Harrisonville Wildcats girls basketball team won the district championship on Friday, March 3. The Lady Cats had only won one district champ previously in school history, which was in 1982. This game was at Clinton against Clinton, and the Lady Cats prevailed and ended up on top of the Cardinals 27-25..

The Cats were 11-9 on the season, and 4-2 in MRVC.

It was a close game that had a dramatic finish. What better way to close off a district championship?

Junior Anna Saffels, said, “This game will put us in the history books.”

The team prepared hard, focused on the opposing teams, and did not lighten up.

There will be a pep assembly today in the main gym during 8th hour. The girls basketball team will travel to Sedalia to face the Osage Indians following the assembly.
